Never been to Vegas and dying to go there? Don’t want to sound boorish but would love to know exactly what comprises the area in this city known as the Las Vegas Strip? Â Here’s all you need to know!
Some Dry Facts
The Las Vegas Strip forms a  small part of the greater Las Vegas Boulevard, and is around 6.8 km in length. The Strip if famous for housing some of the most prestigious hotels in the world, and out of the 25 biggest hotels in the world (in terms of room numbers), 19 are situated here.  Beginning at the Northern tip of the Las Vegas Strip (facing Fremont Street), the first casino is the Stratosphere, with the highest observation deck west of the Mississippi.  On the extreme Southern end, you’ll find the Four Seasons Mandalay Bay. Some of the major hotel brands on the Strip include The Wynn, The Venetian, Bellagio, New York – New York, The Mirage and Caesars Palace.
Getting Around the Las Vegas Strip
There are a number of ways for you to get around the Las Vegas Strip and visit some of these amazing hotels with their special themes, incredible facades and unique attractions. Â Some of the best casinos are located on the Strip and are definitely worth a visit. You could use the Las Vegas monorail which doesn’t run on the Strip itself, but is just as convenient because it runs on its east side from Tropicana Avenue to Sahara Road.
You can also take the Deuce, a double decker bus run by RTC Transit, which makes its way from the North to the South of the strip, stopping at all the casinos along the way. An express bus service also has has stops at all the major shops and attractions on the Strip.
Regular trolleys travel up and down the Strip and you may want to consider taking out a 24 hour pass which is a very cheap and convenient way to see all that the Strip has to offer you. Some of the hotels offer free shuttle services, so don’t forget to ask if you’re staying at one of them.
Worth the Visit
While Las Vegas is certainly not only the Strip, this area definitely encompasses everything that this city has to offer – nonstop action, Â excellent gambling fun, luxury hotels and various other attractions. Â Definitely worth a visit!
