Gambling on Facebook: A Sure Bet

It was not for nothing that the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, was recently named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Since this social networking site was launched, it has virtually changed the way that we communicate with one another. Today, there are over FIVE HUNDRED MILLION users of Facebook around the world, with over 50% of them logging in at least once a day. An average user has 130 friends and users, in total, spend over 700 billion minutes per month on Facebook.

Besides the chance to communicate with friends and ‘network’, there are plenty of other things that users can do, including downloading interesting applications in the form of games. While it is not permissable to gamble for money on Facebook, there are lots of ways to get that gambling ‘fix’ without actually exchanging cash.

Poker fans have often said that the Texas Hold ’em Poker action on Facebook is second to none. You can join a virtual table anytime you’re in the mood for a game, at any time of the day or night and earn chips while playing others from all over the world. You can even chat to them while playing.  Players sometimes set up private poker tables and play against their friends – no matter where they are in the world. Facebook regularly runs Texas Hold ’em tournaments and you can vie for the championship title. If you invite other friends to join in the fun, you are rewarded with more chips as an incentive.

Another fun way to gamble on Facebook is through scratch and win applications. The idea is to scratch off tickets and win tokens, which can then be exchanged for virtual prizes. If you complete a set of these virtual prizes, you are able to move up a level and your tokens will be worth more. There are plenty of ways to earn credits to buy more scratch off tickets. For example, you can invite friends to join, you can take part in surveys or you can install toolbars. In addition, you can even more more credits for very little money.

Take a look at the different apps available on Facebook and you’ll see that it’s quite possible to enjoy ‘gambling’ without exchanging real money for your entertainment.
