Celine Dion, one of the most successful female performers of all times, is back in Sin City to wow her fans with a brand new show. Dion signed a three year contract to perform at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the new show premiered this week. It’s all about coming home for Dion, who performed for five straight years on the casino’s stage before taking time off two years ago.
“I’m coming home to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and I’m very excited about it,” she said in a statement. “With the orchestra and the band we are going to be able to perform our songs like never before.”
“The repertoire is going to be extraordinary,” she continued. “A mix of timeless, Hollywood classics, along with all the favorites that my fans like to hear me sing.”
Indeed, the new show promises to be quite extraordinary, and will feature 31 singers and musicians, a full orchestra and band, incredible lighting in one of the most beautiful locations in Vegas and – above all – the presence of Celine Dion, unarguably one of the world’s best performers.
During her last five year year stint at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino, Dion grossed over $400 million in constantly sold-out shows and it doesn’t look as if this time around will be any different.
Dion took off time to perform in a world tour in 2009, and 2010 was spent with her family as she carried her twin sons, born at the end of the year. Celine and her husband Rene Angelil welcomed the infants Eddy and Nelson into their family, which also consists of older brother Rene-Charles. The family has now moved en masse to Vegas, to be with Celine as she performs once more.
“I’m very excited about it,” she said in a recent interview. “It’s going to be a very beautiful show and I think we’ll be raising the bar higher than we’ve ever done before. There’ll be some truly wonderful moments. I can’t wait!”
